Actual printing "plate"(?) from the August 9, 1965 New York Post American Stock Exchange Closing Prices page seems to have been used to press/emboss all of that pages information onto a piece of artist board. Over this the artist then painted an image of the actual American Stock Exchange building. Size is 15.5" x 10.5". Signed "A. Caldwell 66". Frame size is 22" x 16.5".

This is a vintage, mid 20th century, mixed media work featuring a view of Wall Street in New York City. It is done with the original printing plate made for the August 9, 1965 New York Post American Stock Exchange featuring the closing prices of that day. The plate is mounted and then has been painted over in a limited palette of sepia, white and black with the street scene. This is signed A. Caldwell and dated '66 for 1966. This is not a listed artist. It is rendered in an illustrative style. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
