It is wood with to leather pieces at the top I think they are leather. The seat is 21" wide height is 41" The leather pieces are 7" wide by 10" There are what I think are vines are the back part and some are missing. I don't see any markings on the chair.
My mother it was her mother's. Is it worth anything in this condition or restored.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This apppears to be a high back leather upholstered armchair or possibly a carver chair of the late 19th century. The oak construction appears to be intact and built to last for another 130 years. The foliage carvings on the backrest were glued on and not carved out, which would indicate that this was manufactured on a larger scale. To replace the missing carvings might pose a problem, but with a little effort, some pieces of oak and a dremel it is not impossible. If restored the estimate would be 400-700 USD. The estimate given is for the chair in the "as found" condition.
