Good afternoon, Mary Lynn,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I see a LOT of inquiries about Noritake china sets – of all sizes, vintages and patterns – and it is unfortunate that it does not bring more at auction – sometime an average of $1 per piece even regardless of age or pattern. For it to do better than $1 per piece, the set should include lots of the larger service pieces AND the condition should be really quite good…but even that rarely gets above $2 per piece. For the simple reason that most people – particularly of the age getting married – do not entertain as formally as older generations once used to and do not have either the space or inclination to own something they have to store carefully.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A 67-piece vintage Noritake China part dinner service
Azalea pattern #19322, with red Morimura mark, circa 1920-1930s, comprising:
10 dinner plates
10 soup bowls
10 bread/butter plates
10 saucers
10 dessert bowls
9 coffee cups
1 covered butter dish,
1 one-piece gravy boat
1 large platter
1 small platter
2 vegetable bowls
1 deep vegetable bowl,
1 covered sugar
1 cream pitcher
PROVENANCE: Inherited
CONDITION: Only examined through photographs. Client represents this set to be all in near mint condition. One dinner plate has a small chip, no other visible wear.

I have had this set appraised at two other auction houses as well. One gave me the value of $700, the other gave me value of $900, so I Meat to estimate is very low. I will be charging $500 to anyone who is interested for the entire set. I am willing to break apart serving pieces, glasses and dishware.
