Noritake 65pce Valencia 6683 Set great condition, no chips, minimum scuffs. Set includes 8 tea cups & saucers, milk jug & saucer, sugar bowl with lid & saucer.
Hi Donna,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Noritake was one of the most popular names for dinnerware in the mid 20th Century; not only was it handsome and serviceable but it was also comparatively affordable. Increasingly few people today, however, entertain in such a formal way and the market is saturated with services of varying sizes, colors, etc. Because there is less demand than supply, fair-market / auction prices for Noritake remain low, typically bringing $4-8 PER PIECE.
While you have a relatively small service with few serving pieces (platters, tureens, serving bowls, etc), the fact that you have the same (and even) number of place pieces (plates, bowls, cups), benefits its value, which I've appraised at about $6-10/piece
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Noritake 53-piece parcel gilt part dinner service for 8
In the Valencia pattern (#6683), made in Japan, bears the Nippon Toki wreathed "N" mark in use from 1953, comprising:
8 dinner plates
8 luncheon plates
8 dessert plates
8 bread/butter plates
8 tea cups with 8 saucers
1 cream pitcher and 1 saucer
1 covered sugar bowl and 1 saucer
1 two-handled serving dish
CONDITION: client represents this set to be in great condition with minimum scuffs and no breaks.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 325-525 for the set*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

Hi Donna,
I'm coming up with just 53 pieces for this set rather than 65 - can you please let me know which pieces you have more of and I'll update this appraisal and the value, which is based on 53 pieces.
Thanks,
Delia
