Hello Michele,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, mark and the colours, I concluded that this is a Japanese Noritake Dinner and Tea Service, dating to the period 1953-1965. This yellow and blue Noritake "N" mark underneath your pieces was registered firstly in 1953. The letter "N" is for Nippon, which is the name of Japan in local language. Your piece has a very simplistic decoration with leaves lined up in circular patterns. All these patterns we see on your set are printed, we can not detect any kind of hand enhancement or hand painting on your piece which we usually see on earlier pieces.
These types of dinner and tea sets were very popular in US throughout the 20th century. Although they were made in Japan, many patterns were designed in New York after late 1940's. Also, these sets were usually produced for 12 people, your dinner set appears to be for 12 while your tea set appears to be produced for 6 people. Generally in good condition, it was referred as "rarely used" by the owner. The creamer has a chip on it's rim. Collectable and decorative.
