We have a 50pc dinner set of this noritake Nippon China. Three of the pieces say "pandora" on them but are the same design as the rest best I can tell. The set has been used and there are some wear marks on about 50%of the pieces (little black marks on the China, pics are of worst marks). One saucer has two chips and one dinner plate has one chip - all about the same size. Looking for historical information on this set as well as its value.
Don't know, was up in an attic of a house for a long time.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an early 1950s to early 1960s Morimura brothers Noritake dinner service of the Pandora design pattern. A huge number of different transfer printed designs were applied on this particular design, most don´t have specific names. The mark "M in laurel wreath" was registered in 1918 and was used until 1940 and apparently also after 1952. Judging from the availability of Noritake dinner services today, the company must have been very successful in the 1950s. The estimate is based on similar sold at auction.
