Hand painted Noritake China Lusterwear plate and vase set. Vase is 5 1/2 inches tall. Almost perfect condition and dated (I think) between 1921- WW2.
It used to belong to a Great Aunt and was handed down to me. She was born around 1912 and she was most likely the original owner.
Good morning, Lori,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a cream pitcher and cake plate, part of a larger (most likely) dessert service . If you had the rest of the set (teapot, sugar bowl, cups and saucers, dessert plates) it would be a few hundred dollars. If this was from a dinner service (dinner plates, luncheon plates, soup plates, bread & butter plates, plus service pieces, it would be several hundred if not a few thousand dollars.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Noritake hand-painted "poppy" pattern cream pitcher and cake plate
Made in Japan, bears "Morimura" M mark, circa 1920s
pitcher 5 1/2 inches tall; plate 9 1/2 inches diameter across handles
PROVENANCE: inherited
CONDITION: appears to be in very good condition.
$50-75

I've updated the appraisal and bumped the value slightly
Thank you for the information. The plate is 9 1/2 inches diameter. With the plate being bigger, does that mean that it’s worth more like $60?
