Excellent condition few pieces missing ans 1 plate is slightly chipped
8 piece set
Hi Josée,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Noritake was one of the most popular names for dinnerware in the mid 20th Century; not only was it handsome and serviceable but it was also comparatively affordable. Increasingly few people today, however, entertain in such a formal way and the market is saturated with services of varying sizes, colors, etc. Because there is less demand than supply, fair-market / auction prices for Noritake remain low, typically bringing $4-6 PER PIECE.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage 54-piece Noritake parcel gilt porcelain part dinner service for 8
In the Joanne pattern, made in Japan, bearing the Nippon Toki "N" back stamp in use in the 1930s, comprising:
7 dinner plates
8 luncheon plates (8")
8 dessert/salad plates (7")
8 bread plates (6-1/2")
6 double-handled cream soup bowls
8 Coffee cups with 7 saucers
1 sugar bowl
1 cream pitcher.
All in excellent condition except for 1 little chip on the outline of one plate
CONDITION: this set appears to be in good condition; client warrants no chips or scratches. Value assumes not breaks, repairs or losses.
PROVENANCE: inherited
CAD $225-325 for the set*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
