Hi Chris,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is the sugar urn or bowl from what would have been a larger service that probably included dinner plates, serving bowls, etc, as well as a teapot, cream pitcher, etc.
The 'M' mark was in use from the 1920s-1940s; I can't find the name of the pattern but it's in the Chinoiserie style.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Noritake parcel gilt porcelain covered sugar urn
Indeterminate Chinoiserie style, bearing Morimura date mark 'M', circa 1920s-1940s
The body in inset ribs, decorated allover in a mustard-yellow with a black silhouette landscape
6 inches high, 6 inches diameter
PROVENANCE: inherited
$30-50*
