This is a wool, Oriental machine-woven rug, likely produced in the third quarter of the 20th century. It is evident that it is machine and not hand-woven by visually inspecting the underside and seeing that the knotting could not have been done by hand. This rug was mass produced in the Orient and sold in the West. As such, the value is quite modest and purely decorative. Hand-woven rugs created for indigenous use are typically the more sought after by collectors.
