This is a Heriz rug, approximately 11'4" x 8' with some repairs. I tried to send more photos, but I had a lot of trouble trying to get them to upload on your app. I'm happy to send more photos through some other means. The width on the rug varies by about 2" in places. One end have a bit of waviness, presumably from being hung. There is a repaired tear on one end - see photo #3. The corners of the rug on one end are fraying about 3" on the sides. There is a lighter patch near the bottom end as shown in the main photo. This is sunlight and not fading. There may be other issues, but overall its a good looking rug.
Approximately 11'4" x 8'. The width varies somewhat from approximately 7'10" to 8'. The width is fairly consistent on the ends.
Hello,
This item is a vintage Heriz rug, distinguished by its characteristic geometric medallion and bold coloration, typical of rugs woven in the Heriz region of Northwest Iran. Heriz rugs are highly valued for their durability and unique aesthetic, often featuring a central medallion with angular patterns radiating outward. These rugs are known for their heavy, sturdy weave, which is a result of the durable wool and robust weaving techniques used in their construction, making them sought-after items for both collectors and interior design enthusiasts.
The rug measures approximately 11'4" x 8', with slight variations in width due to waviness, likely caused by previous hanging or storage practices. There are visible signs of repair, including a mended tear on one end and fraying at the corners of one side. Additionally, a lighter patch near the bottom end, as seen in the main photo, is attributed to sunlight exposure rather than fading. While these factors may affect the rug's aesthetic uniformity, they also contribute to its history and authenticity as a vintage piece.
Given its size, provenance, and condition, this rug would be valued at approximately $3,000 to $4,500 on the current market. Despite the repairs and minor wear, its enduring appeal lies in the intricate design and rich colors, which continue to hold high value among collectors and aficionados of Persian rugs.
