Such paintings with ocean waves and beautiful sunsets were sold since the late 1970s in great numbers to galleries both in Europe and the USA. The german paintings would be signed with simple german names, paintings for the british market with names like Carpenter, Smith, Jones etc. The signature "Peter Howel" ist just a trade name, a pseudonym for hundreds of chinese painters working in the Shenzhen area. This is a very decorative painting for home decor. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
