Could you tell me more about this painting? Are there more like this or is this a one off?
There are many more of them and the subject matter varies, with galleons, armored knights on horseback, Native Americans, conquistadors, and cheetahs posed with Roman helmets being most common. I've also seen florals on burlap with that signature. They are originals in that they are done by hand to a certain extent, but there is usually an element of silkscreening also involved in this type of decor work. If you google "paintings signed Wyman" or "paintings on burlap signed Wyman," you'll see a number of similar examples, all more or less identical to each other, though the small details may vary slightly (different placement of spots on the cheetahs, that sort of thing). At auction, they sell in the $100 to $150 range.
Ok
Thanks for the info!
This is not Vicky Wyman's work. This 1960s - 1970s decor of the type sold in furniture stores and other retailers.
