The appraised work appears to be an oil on canvas painting executed by Cuban-American artist Servando Cabrera Moreno (1923-1981). The painting depicts an abstracted nude form in a crouched position. The various limbs jut across the picture plane appearing as organic forms against a dark background. Moreno studied at the San Alejandro Academy, took classes at the Art Students League in New York and attended La Grande Chaumiere in Paris. In addition to group exhibitions, he participated in the Venice Biennale, Mexico and São Paulo. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. The appraised work's size, composition, medium and condition (based on images provided), as well as the artist's current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate.
