This chair is Oak and belonged to my grandparents who were Danish immigrants. I have recently had it professionally restored/repaired by Montalbano Furniture of Broadview, IL. You will notice that 2 of the pictures are from after the restoration and the others are from before the restoration.
This chair has been in my family for as long as my father can remember. His parents were Danish immigrants, but we think it unlikely that they would have been able to bring it here with them as they were very poor.

first quarter 20th Century
The back with a carved masque over pierced splat, shaped serpentine arms raised on square section supports over a shaped plank seat, all raised on cabriole front legs and splayed squared-section rear legs.
