Original hand-painted watercolor titled "The Canal," signed John R. Swanson in the lower right and titled in the lower left. The painting depicts a Dutch-style canal waterfront with detailed architecture, boats, and storefronts bearing names such as Van Dyke, Bakery, Semstra, Inn, The painting is executed on textured watercolor paper with deckled edges. The reverse shows masking tape residue consistent with original mounting. It appears to be an original watercolor rather than a print. Condition: Good overall. Previously matted. Minor edge wear and tape residue on the reverse from framing. No obvious tears or major damage to the artwork itself. I have not been able to confirm the artist's identity, although the signature appears to read John R. Swanson. I am seeking identification and an appraisal.
