Hello, this item is an antique Korean ink and brush landscape painting on silk, attributed to the late Joseon Dynasty period (likely 19th century). The work depicts a mountainous riverside scene with traditional architecture, scholars in pavilions, and inscriptions with red seals in the upper right, typical of literati painting traditions inspired by both Chinese and Korean Neo-Confucian aesthetics. The execution reflects a disciplined hand trained in sansu-hwa (mountain-and-water painting), emphasizing harmony between human presence and nature through controlled ink washes and restrained palette.
The painting shows good preservation for its age, with minor age toning and slight creasing consistent with silk scroll works of the period. Paintings from named Joseon artists, especially those with calligraphic inscriptions, are collectible within the Korean art market. Comparable unsigned 19th-century Korean literati scrolls sell between 1,500 and 3,000 USD depending on attribution and condition.
