A matched pair of small Japanese wireless cloisonné (musen shippō) vases attributed to the Ando Cloisonné Company (Andō Shippō Ten), Nagoya, likely mid-20th century. Each vase has a soft ivory/cream ground fading into a misty blue-green landscape scene depicting a multi-tiered pagoda, pine trees, and a flock of birds in flight. The neck and foot rim of each vase are banded in a dark metal (likely silver or silver-plate). The base of at least one vase is stamped with a small four-petal cross emblem consistent with Ando's maker's mark. One vase shows visible cracking in the enamel surface; the second is reported to be in stable condition. The pair is accompanied by two carved wooden display stands with a gadrooned rim, one showing age-related splitting/chipping, and by a small paper ephemera item printed with a peony/chrysanthemum motif and the text "Ando Cloisonne Store / Nagoya City Office," believed to be shop-issued literature or a maker's tag contemporaneous with the vases' original purchase. Provenance: acquired in Korea over 70 years ago (circa mid-20th century), consistent with items brought back by U.S. military personnel or civilians stationed in East Asia during that period.
