I believe this is a pair of vintage hand painted majolica vases. Both vases are painted in the round and feature budding and blooming spring flowers with gold gilt trim around the top rim. The budding flowers look like the first crocus of spring. These vases stand approximately 6.25β tall and have a diameter at the base of approximately 1 5/8β. While there is some age-wear to the gold gilt trim, both vases are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, fading, or repairs.
These pieces were acquired at an estate sale, therefore I don't know very much about them.
Good morning, Virginia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I can't identify the maker of these, and the pastel palette of these vases is fairly atypical of majolica, which usually has deeper colors. That said, these vases are lovely and have a great presence and certainly merit on their own irrespective of maker.
