This drawing is 22" x 18". It is pastel or oil pastel I believe. The artist for some reason added an extra inch to the bottom. To fit in the frame or add the signature? It is a strange and amateurish addition to what to me is a fairly technically sophisticated and beautiful drawing.

Hi Bruce,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This appears to be part of a large production of decorative artwork - done in China - for the export market. I suspect that the work was originally intact but erroneously cut but framed up anyway; regardless, it certainly detracts from the value.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Chinese School, 20th Century
Mountain Landscape with Lake
pastel on paper
character signature lower right
18 by 22 inches
matted and framed
CONDITION: lower inch of composition has been sliced through but included in the frame
$100-150*
