Cherry. Desk top in 30" x 48", 30" high. Shelf unit is 291/2" wide by 46" high.
We brought it new in 1967, and have owned it ever since.
This is a well constructed 20th century reproduction furniture piece by Pennsylvania house of a unique, and short-lived, desk style with secretary bookshelf unit built in to the side, as opposed to atop, that emerged originally in France in several centuries ago. This particular style also incorporates American Colonial elements. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
No original paperwork. We brought it at Colonial Furniture in Zeeland, MI right after we were married. That store is no longer in business.
Do you by chance have the original paperwork that would have come with this when purchased new?
