Perempuan di Pantai by Hendra Gunawan
Oil on camvas painting by Hendra created in year 1974. Signed and dated. It measures 147cmx90cm and with new frame. It is in satisfactory condition wth some small chips of painting on the surface due to age. Its a painting about lady relaxing by the sea side.
Acquired from grandson of Hendra in Bandung, Mr Herru Prayogo in circa 2016. Understand it was from family inheritance. There is also a letter from a surviving son of Hendra , ie Mr Tresna who stated the painting is by Hendra and registerred under the family register of Hendras paintings.A copy of theattestation is attached.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a painting closely related to the works of Hendra Gunawan (Indonesian, 1918-1983).
The outlines of the depicted female are very linear, which is a bit different to other paintings by the same artist. The signature is similar, but not a perfect match to other signatures of the artist. Assuming the family register of Hendras paintings exists and is accepted as an authenicator of his work, the estimate is as stated above, based on recent auction results of similar.
