Hoping you can confirm by photos the material and that it’s hand knotted.
Bought at high end estate sale
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. From what I can see on the photos you provided, it appears to be a genuine hand knotted wool pile persian Keshan rug of the second half 20th century. In general prices for rugs have fallen considerably, but a persian rug of this size would still get a pre-auction estimate of 1200-2500 USD. "Asking prices" in the trade might be considerably higher and vary.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, but to help me answer the question you would have to upload a few photos first. Thank you
Interesting- when I first signed up for an account, I used my IPad, and it appeared that my photos uploaded. However, as you noted, nothing was showing when I logged back on, and only by sending the photos from my IPad to my windows-based laptop was I able to go back and select the "add photos" option. On the IPad, the "add photos" link was not visible. Just an FYI. Thanks for being patient. Here are the photos!
hi,
I am confused about the pre-appraisal possibility of $1200-$2500 and then the next sentence saying “if spotted at the right auction, it could go for less than 1200”. Did you mean “more than” $1200?
Sorry for the twisted message. I meant you should carefully choose the auction house. From your perspective as a seller it would be the wrong auction if it sells for less than the lower estimate, for a possible buyer it would be the right auction.
That's what I was thinking (and hoping!). Are you able to adjust the verbiage in the original appraisal review to reflect this conclusion? I'd like to show the appraisal info to potential buyers and they have been confused by the meaning as I have.
NEVERMIND- I see you already did this! Sorry.
What do you mean by 0 euro value?
