10' x 8'. I think it is Persian, imagine appraiser will know for certain. It is handmade/hand tied. I believe it is wool. Very nice condition with one bleed area into the fringe on one end. Otherwise, no tears or odors. No manufacturer's tag. I hope the appraiser can give an opinion of age, pattern, origin, type of carpet and the like. The light places showing on the carpet are nothing more than sunlight shining through the trees.
Purchased from an estate auction.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an Indo-Persian soumak style rug. The rug features an all over palmette and floral design, in a palette of pastel colours, yellow, red, ochre, beige, light green on a dark blue ground. The pleasant subdued ( intentionally dyed) colours give the impression as if the rug has some age, but this is not the case here, rather last quarter 20th century. The estimate is based on similar rugs sold at auction in recent years."Asking prices" in the trade can be much higher and vary.
