What a beautiful Bunell oil on canvas! This is one of the strongest by him I’ve seen and likely depicts a known area on the California coast. in my research. His work does come up for public auction from time to time and has sold between $101USD and $190USD. If you can pinpoint the location of this painting (which I expect is around San Fran) then the value is greater. In my experience once, a painting bought at auction has been placed in a gallery you can expect to see a retail price at least three times the auction sales result. That said, retail prices will vary widely depending on market fluctuations and regional variations.
