A Tabriz Pictorial Rug, North West Persia, Wool on Cotton foundation. I think???? W=6'5" H=12'1" Tassels=10". Aprox 60kg. Like New Condition, No Damage. The Pictures do not do it justice. Has never been in a high traffic area I spent hours sitting on this carpet and can't even imagine the days and love that went into making this carpet.I think? it is all natural dye. I'm trying to find out how much it would cost to send to the USA. Maybe you can recommend someone from Turkey that can transport without damaging it. Sorry I'm not a professional photographer and I only rolled it out to take pics. This is an OMG carpet that would be perfect for someone that owns a Yacht or "Hollywood Type House"
From a hole in the wall carpet shop in Diyarbakir, Turkey. I bought in 1991. No previous owners that I know of. I have never seen another one like it or with the vivid colors. It is definitely a show stopper.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a persian style late 20th century pictorial or tableaux rug. The rug is ornately decorated with flowers, foliage, peacocks and other birds, architectural elements in a somewhat ideal garden setting, showing a man and a woman in several cartouches, inspired by 19th century Qajar dynasty motifs. These decorative rugs are ideally placed on the wall for home decor and would surely appeal to a persian buyer. The estimate is based on auction results for similar rugs of similar size and quality offered or sold at auction in western countries. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
