This item is really heavy, etched along the top and sides. There is a crack toward the back of the item, possibly from aging. It appears to have been repaired well.

Hello, this item is a carved stone figure representing a stylized pig or boar, inspired by archaic Chinese jade animal forms, particularly those associated with Neolithic cultures such as Hongshan, where simplified animal silhouettes were common. The elongated body, minimal anatomical detailing, and incised linear markings echo these early stylistic references. However, the material surface, carving execution, and overall finish indicate this is not an ancient jade artifact but a modern decorative stone carving. The texture appears artificially weathered, and the incisions lack the refinement and tool precision seen in excavated examples. The visible repair at the rear further supports a contemporary object rather than an archaeological piece.
From a market perspective, such works are widely produced for the decorative market and sold as interpretations of ancient motifs rather than authentic antiquities. Value is therefore based on size, weight, and visual appeal rather than historical importance. Comparable carved stone figures of this type typically sell in the range of $60 to $150 USD on the secondary market.
