14 ammonites and orthoceras fossil imprints, of varying size, are presented in a polished matrix. Several of marine arthropods protrude from the sides of the plate and are nearly complete, while several are partial fossils. The cephalopods have clearly delineated chambers of rich browns, creams, black, and ochre. Orthoceras and Ammonites are primitive members of the phylum cephalopoda and are the ancestral cousin of modern squid and octopus. Unknown excavation source; but other specimens of this size and color have confirmed provenance of the Sahara Desert of Eastern Morocco. Thank you for your appraisal. I have 2 questions: 1) the title of the piece has been changed but I do not think it is correct, and 2) if I sell this on the marketplace, how is shipping handled? Is it an additional charge on top of the value of the piece itself? This is very heavy, so I would have to investigate how to ship it.
