It is is perfect condition, originally owned by my great uncle so I suspect it was not cheap originally. That's all I know.

I re-measured and weighed. 8.5"x5" and 23 ounces exactly. There are some small imperfections in the mold, such as on the back of his arm. Again something that made me think it might be a nice piece--cheap stuff is usually perfect.
Thanks for your additional comments and measurements. The weight confirms this is porcelain and not alabaster, which would have been quite a bit heavier.
I've looked a thousands of these kinds of pieces in a career that is going into its third decade and I can say that comparatively speaking and with respect to any family sentiment as an inherited piece, this is a fair-to-good quality piece, but not much better than that. The market for even exceptional porcelain pieces is soft for all but the finest examples and anything below that really struggles to bring a good price at auction. I wanted to be realistic in what this is worth in today's times; it may be an instance where it's "sentimental value" outweighs its "market value."
No, there is nothing at all. There is that hole in the back of her dress that I see from a lot of these types of pieces--the more expensive ones. That is what made me curious enough to get an appraisal.
