Gabbeh rugs are typically very tightly woven, so this is an anomaly in that sense, and the pattern is quite a bit more colorful and 'busy' than typical but the small animals and other motifs are absolutely in line with Gabbeh rugs...in the case of this rug I think its a Caucasian-Gabbeh variant.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Caucasian-Gabbeh hand-woven wool carpet
Iran/Persia, first half 20th Century
with colorful geometric patterns allover within a sawtooth border, cream selvedges
4'10" by 6'10"
CONDITION: losses to selvedges, wear commensurate with age and use
