Statue stands approximately 8" tall
Additional piece from my Dad's collection...
Dear Camilla,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and my sincere apologies for the delay
The presented object appears to be a Pre-Columbian stone figurine made from porose lava stone, limestone, or tufa with the measurements of 8 inches tall. The statue depicts a kneeing monkey or less possibly a human. The stone is a hint for localization to the Middle American regions. This piece is comparable to pieces from Costa Rica around 100 to 500 AC.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
