Jug approximately 3.5" tall
Hi Sara, This is another piece from my Dad's collection. I have about 30 more to upload. Unfortunately, I don't have any additional information on any of the items. He has asked me to get an appraisal on each. Thanks for all of your work and feedback!
Hi again Camilla,
I see that your description notes that you have 30 more items-- do you have 30 more of these vessels or general Pre Columbian items? I would like to help you figure out what is economically best for you for these appraisals.
This item appears to be a spout vessel, possibly from the Veracruz culture. Typically, there would be a handle on these. Therefore, I do wonder if a handle was broken off and repaired. The design has been referred to as a "bean motif" in other examples.
Please refer to any conditional terms in previous appraisals regarding the valuation of this item.
Hey Camilla. I totally understand the hope to save some money. I would suggest that the following:
- group about three similar Pre Columbian items in one submission. I can provide an appraise for the group and note any specifics in the comments.
- if you have sculptures by the same artists, I would suggest to group the items in one submission. Again, I can detail any specifics in the description.
- I don't appraise the paintings unless requested too. So I cannot suggest an economical solution there. I'm sorry. But you may want to try one or two submissions, similar to my bronze suggestion.
Additionally, you may want to reach out to [email protected]. The manager may be able to work something out with you. Alternatively, I can provide you with an independent collection appraisal. Whatever you would prefer.
I hope that helps.
Hi Sara! I now have 24 general Pre Columbian items left to send you. I also have 5 bronze statues my Dad has asked me to get appraised and about a dozen paintings. If there is a more economical way to complete these appraisals, I would be incredibly grateful!
