What does this mean?

Hi Camilla,

This object appears to depict Xōchipilli, the god of joy, music and dance of the Zapotec. The object is usually seen as a funeral urn. In many recent years there have been many replicas or modern sculptures of this piece. This one appears to be in extremely good shape, with a lack of chips or losses and a lot of paint remaining. This is concerning when considering authenticity. I would suggest you have this object authenticated before selling it. The estimate is based on authentic Zapotec figures of deities.
