What does this mean?

Hi Camilla,

This item appears to be a face. Based on the size, it may have been attached to a figure or jar. Other face objects that are not attached to a vessel or ritual object, are smaller and are often jewelry. Based on the abstract features of the eyes and small lips, I'd attribute the object to Costa Rica. However, I am sorry to say I cannot be 100 percent positive. There are other examples in a similar abstract design attributed to other cultures. I based the estimate of fragment face objects based on the size.
