Face statue standing approximately 5" tall
Pre Columbian Statue
Hello Camilla,
I am so very sorry for the delay in your appraisals. I was on vacation last week and other specialists were suppose to cover this category. I very much apologize. I noticed your items a few minutes ago. I will work on appraising all of your items tomorrow. Until then, I wanted to reach out, apologize and provide at least one appraisal for you.
This item appears to be another one of those "sonriente" (smiling) figures. However, this one appears to have been decapitated. Here is the MET article regarding those objects again.

This one appears to have a pelican motif to the headdress. The figure was likely standing and resembles other examples of the Remojados culture from Veracruz. As previously mentioned, dating the item would require in-person examination. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of similar figures in similar dimensions. Please note that dealer or private prices may vary. Further, estimates are contingent on condition and authenticity. Thank you.
