Statue is just over 5" in height.
This belongs to my father. He purchased several pieces similar to this over the years and would like to know the value, if there is any.
Hello Camilla,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I very much apologize for the few hours delay for your appraisal. The item presented appears to be a Pre-Columbian figure. The item appears to have some resemblance to other Veracruz Gulf Coast figures. Dating the item would require in-person examination. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of similar figures in similar dimensions. Please note that dealer or private prices may vary. Further, estimates are contingent on condition and authenticity. Thank you and please take care.
Hi Camilla,
If the collection consists of similar figures, I would assume the estimate of $50 - 200 each would apply. However, there may be some figures that would exceed or not quite make that estimate due to condition, age, and other factors. If you are looking for an appraiser to value the entire collection as a whole, you may want to check out Mearto's appraiser directory (https://mearto.com/appraisers). You may find a local appraiser to work with the collection. If you are still have trouble with that task, let me know and I can ask some colleagues to help out. Take care.
Hi Sara,
Thank you so much for the appraisal. As I mentioned previously, this belongs to my Dad. He has 48 other pieces in his collection. Seeing that this is only valued at $50-$200, I'd hate to spend $19 on 48 additional appraisals just to receive the same news. Can you offer me any suggestions as to how I might go about getting a value on all of them without having to spend $19 for each one?
Many thanks,
Camilla
