Hello Scott,

Thank you for choosing Mearto with your online appraisal and I deeply apologize for the long delay on your appraisal.

This ceramic ceremony bowl, Classic Maya (ca. AD 250-950). These type of vessels were very important to Maya culture and in general to Pre-Columbian societies as it helped pregnant women to carry their baby metaphorically and be protected throughout. Very well decorated with animal legs.

No documents or proof of origins. International law is very strict when it comes to archaeological material.

Good condition.
