Primitive Tressel Table
This table is ancient, it measures 80.5" Long x 31" Wide and 57.5 Wide with leafs open and 30.5 Tall. I still haven't figured out what kind of wood but it very heavy with solid 80" long planks and all hand forged iron hardware. Its exstreamly sturdy and both leads fold up and down beautifully. This piece also has 1 drawer on each end and 2 hidden compartments on the side.
Originally purchased from the Hinahara family "Very well known family on island" they purchased it from a antique shop in Pennsylvania in the 60's and shipped it to their estate in Wailuku, Hawaii.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a Pine drop-leaf table having pine stretcher base and part walnut drawers. A nice feature are the hidden compartments. The hand forged nails would be typical for a remote rural area, the wear at the footrests has worn off the edges. Production date could be early 19th century, but if the table was in use in a tavern the patina builds up easily in a short period of time. Only a dendrochronoligist could determin the exact age. The estimate is based on similar tables with good patina sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade are usually higher and can vary.
