6 x 4, high pile, 100% wool. There are notes on the underside on tape that say "100% wool. very rare, Persia Tribal Gabbeh, fine wool, handmade" Then there is a number crossed out 1.800 000 with a symbol in front of it that I can't make out. The rug has a lovely weight to it, and rolls very nicely. No stains, or discolouration. Excellent condition. I would like to know the retail value of this? Is this considered vintage or antique, or neither? What decade is it from?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a vintage, last quarter 20th century Gabbeh Rug manufactured in Persia for export.
These rugs are popular for their decorative reduced designs which perfectly fit to modern furniture. Retail prices would be double the high estimate.
The estimate is based on similar sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
