This appears to be a dark red on white cross checked patterned or irish chain pattern quilt, apparently hand stiched and most likely dating to the 19th century. It is a beautiful classic design, very simple and timeless. Similar quilts have been offered and sold at auction. The estimate is based on auction results. "Asking prices" in the trade can be much higher and vary.
