Reverse painted bronze lamp, possibly circa 1925-1935 but could be older.
This is a lamp that was given to my husbands father in the 1980's from an elderly lady, likely an immigrant to the United States, that wanted him to have it rather than her children because they would not appreciate it. There is very superficial chipping on the bottom of the shade.
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The apprised object is a largely sized lamp. The lamp itself is constructed in two main parts. A glass lamp shade and a metal lamp stand. The lampshade is decorated with hand painted flowers. The lampstand is decorated with neoclassical decors and probably made out of bronze or brass. This piece was made at the beginning of the 20th century, possibly between 1920 and 1930.
This beautiful piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
