I was given the Rocking Chair a long time ago. The then owner mentioned Columbia, if it originated from there or was the style from that country I don’t know. There doesn’t seem to be any markings on it. The condition is perfect.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is an American chair (not Colombian) , so the term "Columbia" could refer to the place it was made, or it could refer to the Worlds' Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 (which predated this chair) but where comparable mass-produced examples were exhibited.
Rocking chairs are as ubiquitous an American antique as spinning wheels and the market is over-saturated with them as there are fewer collectors and people who want them than those on the market. This chair may have a high sentimental value to you and your family but on the market, it is worth about $80-120. It is not uncommon for rocking chairs of any vintage to sell at auction for less than $100.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage American Art Nouveau style carved and joined maple rocking armchair
probably 1950s
The shaped tablet crest with relief carving over 7 "arrow" spindles and relief-carved lower back bar, the curved arms each raised over three turned spindles, over a saddle seat with shaped front edge, raised on four turned and tapering legs joined by turned double box-stretchers, all on rockers. Unsigned.
