I have a rod iron 3 piece patio set I'm needing appraised. 2 of the 3 are chairs of solid twisted iron rods with flat metal for seating. The 2 chairs being the same measure at the widest width 40", 39 1/2" at the highest point. The seat bottom is 24 1/2" X 24 1/2". And the seat height is 13 1/2". The balls on the top of the post measure 2" across. These are extremely heavy chairs weighing I would say over 60 lbs. The loveseat rod iron piece measures 64 1/2" wide, 53" at the highest point. The seat section measures 47" X 25". And once again fabricated of twisted rolled metal with metal flat pieces supporting seat area. Also has the 2" metal balls at top and estimating it weighs around 100 lbs. All 3 pieces have a greenish copper patina look. Looks original but cannot be sure.
Acquired through an estate
This is a set of vintage, 1st half of the 20th century, wrought (note, not rod) iron patio or outdoor furniture that was custom-made with rope twisted iron and flat basket weave seats in a Modernist assymetrical fashion. The pieces were done by a skilled metal craftsperson and likely hailed from South or Central America. This is a fine set with patina, or surface color in verdigris. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
