The clock was bought in 1987 in Titisee, Germany. It is a Romance Swiss made by Reuge. It is in great condition and has all the parts. There are four moving parts as you can see in the pictures. The man chasing the woman at the top of the clock, the bucks in the bottom left will spar with their antlers, the hunter, dog, and fox will spin, and the bird will come out at the top green shutter. The chain is off inside the clock. That should be the only problem with it working. It plays beautiful music.

Hi Karen,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Cuckoo clocks have captivated collectors and homeowners for centuries by combining craftsmanship, engineering, folk art, and whimsy into a single decorative object. Their enduring appeal lies in both their function and their ability to bring movement and sound into the home.
Originating in Germany's Black Forest region in the 18th century, cuckoo clocks were handcrafted by skilled woodworkers and clockmakers. Intricate carvings of leaves, birds, hunting motifs, or Alpine scenes transformed practical timepieces into works of art, while ingenious bellows and gears animated the famous cuckoo call.
Cuckoo clocks have become one of the best-known symbols of German folk culture. Chalet-style models evoke Alpine villages, while traditional carved examples celebrate the forests and wildlife of the Black Forest region, making them popular souvenirs and decorative pieces.
Reuge is widely regarded as the premier Swiss maker of luxury mechanical music boxes, musical clocks, and singing bird automata. For more than 150 years, the company has combined traditional watchmaking precision with fine woodworking and decorative arts, creating objects that are valued as much for their artistry as for their music.
The company was founded in 1865 by Charles Reuge in Sainte-Croix and the company began by producing pocket watches fitted with tiny musical movements. His son, Albert Reuge, expanded the workshop into a factory specializing in precision music-box mechanisms, establishing the family's reputation for exceptional craftsmanship.
Unlike electronic music boxes, Reuge creations are entirely mechanical. A pinned cylinder or revolving disc plucks the teeth of a finely tuned steel comb, producing remarkably rich and expressive music without electricity.
"Romance" is not a single model but a product line of Swiss musical movements produced by Reuge, primarily from the 1970s through the 1990s. These movements were installed in a wide variety of decorative boxes, clocks jewelry chests, carousels, and gift items made by Italian, American, and other manufacturers.
Cuckoo clocks come to auction with some frequency and one auction database I have access to shows nearly 100 works by Reuge having sold. The majority of Reuge cuckoo clocks sell for between $75 and $150, though you have a particularly complex model that typically sells for between $300 and $500.
