The appraised work is a lithograph titled 'Blackburn' executed by American artist Ron Adams (b. 1934). The print depicts Bob Blackburn, a legendary printmaker who established the Printmakers Workshop in New York in 1940. He appears to be in the process of creating a print, while several images are arranged on a wall in the background being admired by a faceless figure. Adams was himself a master printmaker at Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles and Editions Press in San Francisco before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he established Hand Graphics, another significant press in the Southwest. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. The appraised work's size, composition, medium and condition (based on images provided), as well as the artist's current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
