This art work appears to be an oil painting. It is approximately 5 feet wide by 7 and one half feet high. I am not sure whether it is Chinese or not. There is no signature unless it is under the frame. As you can see by the photos there are cracks in the painting. Originally it came from an estate sale.
A man was moving from his home and my son was hired to pack large items. The man decided not to have the picture packed and shipped. He asked my son if he wanted it and he said yes.
Dear Russell,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the reverse side. This is important for an exact dating of this artwork.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Russel,
Thank you for your request. Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 7x 1,5 feet. It depicts a scenery with a procession or a noble in a sedan with people in Chinese costumes. This piece was made for decorative purposes in Asia in the late 20th or 21st century. The label on the reverse side names China as localization. Nevertheless, this is a decorative large sized object.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
I have found on 2 small bits of information on the back. Rest is all black. I have taken pictures of them. Also I have included a few more close ups of the painting.
