This appears to be a antique sword of Russian making but there is no indications of date or maker of sword. Would like to know about it if any information exists.
Belonged to Russian Family who said it was great grandfathers sword
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a modern reproduction Niello Silver mounted and cloisonne enamel decorated with carved bone inlay with lion head pommel Sword Shamshir. Judging from the carving I would assume it was produced in China, but Georgia is also possible. There are no traces of use, there are no russian silver hallmarks. It is a shamshir, but I doubt it is that old. The estimate is based on similar available in the trade.
