Small banjo found in my moms house not invery good shape but believe that it is an antique
We are in Helotes, Texas outside of San Antonio. There is a brand on the inside S.S. Stewart Phila.PA and someone has signed the inside of the face with a pencil. H.H. Hackler, 619 Washington Blvd, Kansas City
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an open back S.S.Stewart "Monogram" model Banjo Mandolin of the early 20th century. The condition appears to be an issue. The tension hooks are rusty, some bruises, etc. In the current state I would consider this a restoration project. A vintage banjo of similar age but in good condition might sell for 350 USD at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary. The estimate is based on current auction results for similars.
