Three small watercolor paintings. Each one measures 5" x 3", and they are surrounded by a single matte. The frame measures 9" x 16". The frame is made of wood.
This belonged to my father who passed away six weeks ago. He left the painting in his will to his brother, but his brother is also deceased. Our probate attorney requires us to get an appraisal on the painting before he will begin probate proceedings.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a set of three watercolours in a frame. Depicted are small sailing vessels at sea. The composition of each watercolour is professional, but the execution is on the level of a talented amateur artist of the early 20th century, possibly a family member of your family. The estimate is based on similar maritime watercolours by lesser known artists offered or sold at auction. There is non measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
