Dear Margaret,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and I wish you Happy New Year 2022. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be a polychrome brass statue with the measurements of approx 8" tall, 5" wide, 4" deep. The statue depicts a figurine of a Bodhisattva Samantabhadra with a consort figurine. This bodhisattva is connected in the Mahayana Buddhism with practice and meditation and is one of the eight great bodhisattvas. This figurine was made in the 20th century after older originals. Such pieces are produced in high numbers in Asia especially China since the last third of the 20th century.
Comparable pieces were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. The upper part of the figurine is painted and highly probably not
A fair market estimation would be between 50 to 250 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
